Crafting developer utilities with precision
Skidus.dev is an independent software studio founded by systems engineers and database architects. We believe professional developer tools should be fast, private, native, and aesthetically delightful.
Zero Friction & Zero Loss
Data loss is not an option. We design replication algorithms with pre-flight dry runs, strict transaction boundaries, and automated schema cleaning so your production schemas reproduce faithfully.
100% Workstation Privacy
Enterprise databases contain sensitive information. We refuse the trend of unnecessary cloud relays. DataSyphon connects directly from your machine over direct TCP, keeping your data entirely in your hands.
Native Craftsmanship
Developer tools shouldn't look like they were built in 1998 or consume 4 GB of RAM running on Electron. We build natively on Java 21 LTS, JavaFX, and AtlantaFX with high-DPI and smooth dark-mode rendering.
Why we built DataSyphon
For years, database engineers and developers faced an unpleasant dilemma: either spend tens of thousands of dollars on heavy enterprise replication appliances like Oracle GoldenGate, or struggle with clumsy SQL scripts, slow GUI table export wizards, and obscure character encoding mismatches.
We built DataSyphon to solve this exact problem: a dedicated, standalone, beautiful desktop tool that connects to your databases, cleans and adapts messy proprietary DDL (like Oracle STORAGE blocks, sequence partition clauses, or MySQL DEFINERs), lets you preview queries visually, and streams millions of rows in seconds.
DataSyphon v2.0.0 represents our first flagship public product, establishing a new benchmark for homogeneous database replication developer tooling.
Product Roadmap
Our planned milestones for DataSyphon and future Skidus developer tools.
DataSyphon v2.0
Full support for Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Microsoft SQL Server. Domain-driven package architecture, visual rule builder, interactive dry runs, and instant HTML audit reports.
Cross-Database Replication
Full Heterogeneous Cross-Database Replication for Tables & Views (e.g. Oracle → PostgreSQL, SQL Server → MySQL) featuring automated cross-dialect DDL conversion, type mapping, scheduled recurring sync, and SQLite/DuckDB targets.
Skidus QueryLens
A companion schema diffing and query performance optimizer designed to visually highlight index bottlenecks and execution plans across enterprise database engines.
